DRONES AND UAVs - Scottish Industry Expo

A one-day conference to get hands-on with Drones, UAVs and expert advice on the legislation, safety and training to use them in your business

This is event is delivered in partnership by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and the Association of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (ARPAS-UK) as part of Moray Business Week.

To maximise their potential and to find out how they might help your business growth, come to this one-day Expo and listen to UK and local experts talk about how they integrated drones into their businesses. Hear about the opportunities and the challenges, and participate in informal workshop sessions on the “Tools of the Trade”.

So, whether you have considered using a drone or already use a drone in your business, whether you are considering in-house or out-sourcing, then this one-day Expo is for you.

What is included in the EXPO:

We have a day full of UAV experts from Scotland and the rest of the UK to help advise on applications and potential outcomes, offering practical examples and real-life experiences, including:

  • Land surveyors and setting out engineers, Caintech Ltd have an extensive background in the offshore oil sector, construction, land and hydrographic surveying. They will be sharing their in-depth knowledge on the uses of drones within the Siteworks and Surveying session.
  • We are delighted to have Scotland based Cyberhawk Innovations to talk us through the in and outs of UAVS in Building and Asset Inspection. Cyberhawk Innovations is a world leader in UAV inspection and survey and the conversion of UAV data into powerful management information. An industry pioneer, they have completed more than 30 world firsts since their inception. With headquarters in Scotland and offices in Houston, Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur, they operate worldwide in more than 30 countries.
  • Environmental Monitoring covering a wide area including Agriculture, Land Management, Wildlife Monitoring, Forestry, we are delighted to have UAV experts to share their experiences in these fields.

We’ll also be showcasing:

  • Workshop sessions dedicated to Safety, Training and Regulation delivered by Inverness’ UAV expert Matt Harmsworth from ROAVR.
  • A UAV Platforms and Equipment Zone.
  • Drone demonstrations (weather permitting)
  • Experiences of Drone Operators in the Field: expect the unexpected!

There will be plenty of time for discussion and networking. Along with a Buffet Lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
